In a weekend that saw a who’s who of Thoroughbred stars run, from Keeneland to Santa Anita, it a was a $6,500 New Jersey state bred claimer that made my weekend. There were a few other good things that happened last night as well at my home track The Meadowlands, but no redboards here. We could review the Stakes races, but I am sure others go over go over those races. I’m certain every and any horse website will be filled with the usual banter leading up to The Breeders’ Cup. You won’t see this anywhere though…
Last night at the Meadowlands, a horse I have followed from the very beginning, Hi It’s Me won at the Meadowlands again. In fact, I just wrote about this horse in my Meadowlands top 10 moments, well he etched another memory last night, going gate to wire, and showing his affinity for the Meadowlands. The muscular son of Songandaprayer big white blaze was easy to see as he rolled along on the front end last night. He showed good turn of foot as a youngster, and even tried the Count Fleet Stakes in his third career start at Aqueduct. He looked happy before and after the race last night. I hope that he will win a few more. It is not often a $6,500 claimer gets a headline anywhere. On this day Hi It’s Me is the headline for me…
